The Ivy Center for Education held a youth political forum on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Faith Presbyterian Church, 911 University Drive, in Pine Bluff.
The presenter was Priscilla Foreman, an Ivy Center member and a senior at White Hall High School.
Topics included: Should the voting age be lowered? Should Affirmative Action exist? Should schools be required to pass the civics test (that prospective U.S. citizens take)?
Should Arkansas allow voter registration on the day of the election?
Foreman has been an Ivy Center member since she was in the 8th grade and has been on three ICE College Tours/Cultural Enrichment Trips.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Early Foreman, she is a member of Future Business Leaders of America, White Hall Debate Team, Beta Club, Science Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Photography Club and Quiz Bowl.
A member of the Youth Advisory Council, Foreman has also been an Arkansas Girls State senator.
“I am very interested in politics, therefore, my future plans are to attend a great college/university and major in Political Science,” Foreman said.
