An employee of Dollar General in White Hall was arrested Sept. 26 after allegedly stealing money from the store.
Jaynesha Chest, 19, allegedly took $1,500 over a more than three-week period, according to a probable cause affidavit from White Hall Police Department Sgt. Celena
Harbison that was presented in district court Friday.
According to the affidavit, store personnel said Chest took $180 on Sept. 8, $430 on Sept. 12, $80 on Sept. 16, $100 on Sept. 19, $80 on Sept. 22 and $180 on Sept. 26, just before she was arrested.
Harbison reported that Chest allegedly admitted to stealing the money.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $2,500 bond for Chest Friday after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge her with theft of property.
Chest, who has no prior convictions or pending charges, said she would hire her own attorney.
