An estimated 50 new jobs will be created by a steam-line replacement project at the Pine Bluff Arsenal, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’s Little Rock District.
A contract on the project was awarded on May 26 to Carson and Associates Inc. of Little Rock. Work will begin in July and is to be completed by July 2012.
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009 funds will be used to replace leaking, abandoned compressed air and steam lines to increase efficiency. The work will renew 70-year-old mission-essential infrastructure reliability. Work will include upgrading and replacing important infrastructure, such as fiber optic and natural gas lines, electric power systems and three roofs.
