Mr. Hoy was a native of Hamburg; a resident of White Hall for the past eight years and a former resident of Pine Bluff, Hamburg and Parkdale for 60 years. He graduated from Parkdale High School in 1933. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served for two years in Europe during the Normandy Invasion in World War II. He was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for over 44 years and he was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Parkdale United Methodist Church. He was an avid Arkansas Razorback Basketball and Football fan. He loved watching heavy weight boxing and following the National Football League and College Football. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Rhetta J. Hoy Sivils in 2006; his parents, Thomas Andrew & Annie Ellen Goodwin Hoy.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Vivian L. Akridge Hoy of White Hall; a son, Noble M. Hoy Jr., and wife, Cindy, of Pine Bluff; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Gunter and husband, Jim Thompson, of Charleston, South Carolina; three grandsons, Zackery Hoy Sivils of Charleston, South Carolina, Nicholas Hoy of Benton and Brandon Rushing of Pine Bluff.
