Eleanor Crook

She was born March 19, 1921, in New Edinburg, a daughter of the late Robert Leslie Stewart and Mayonia Wylie Stewart. Mrs. Crook graduated from New Edinburg High School and Arkansas A & M, currently, University of Arkansas at Monticello. She was a homemaker and retired school teacher, having taught for a total of thirty six years, in Gravel Ridge, Kingsland, Free Hill, Woodlawn and twenty nine of those years in Rison.  Mrs. Crook was a member of Rison Baptist Church where she was a past Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed flowers, reading and crossword puzzles.  
Crook was also preceded in death by her husband of fifty nine years, Leon Crook; brother, Byron Stewart; sister, Elizabeth Darling.
Mrs. Crook is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Patricia Crook of White Hall, William “Bill” and Vickie Crook of Hot Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Chris Wilson of Rison; six grandchildren, Ronnie Crook, Shannon Crook, Steven and Shay Crook, Erica Crook, Joel Crook and Nicholas Wilson; three step grandchildren, Justin Wilson, Levi Wilson and Jared Wilson; two great grandchildren, Austin Crook and Tabitha Crook.
Graveside services were held Monday, Nov. 21, 2011 at Shady Grove Cemetery near New Edinburg with Brother Wade Totty officiating. Visitation was from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to service time, at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Rison Baptist Church, P. O. Box 404, Rison, AR 71665.
