Child abuse awareness campaign to include golf tourney, run/walk

To help mark April observance’s as Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month, the Pine Bluff Arsenal’s Army Community and Recreation Services will host the 13th annual Child Abuse Awareness 5K run/walk and fifth annual golf tournament on Saturday, April 10.
    The 5K run and two-mile walk will kick off at 8 a.m. at the PBA Recreation Services Center crosswalk. Entry fees are $20 per person in advance and $25 the day of the race.
    Pre-paid applications received by Monday, March 29, will be guaranteed a T-shirt. First-, second-  and third-place awards will be given to men and women overall in the following age divisions of the run: Ages 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64 and 65 and up.
    The golf tournament will start at 11 a.m., at the PBA Pine Haven Golf Course. Entry fees are $20 per entrant prior to the tournament and $25 the day of the event. Children must be under the
supervision of a parent or adult to play in the tournament. Children 10 and younger and younger play free. The tournament will be a nine-hole crazy scramble tournament. First-, second- and third-place awards will be given.
    Cash, checks, money order and credit cards will be accepted.
