Exit list continues to grow

School district has lost nearly 800 years of experience

   The White Hall School District is quickly becoming merely a shadow of its former self, one might reckon as the list of certified employees riding off into the sunset continues to grow.
    Since last month and thro-ugh last week, 23 teachers and two principals have either retired or resigned. The 25 have a total tenure of a whopping 797 years – an average of just under 32 years each.
    Bidding farewell are, in alphabetical order by name and followed by school, position and years of service:
• ALICIA BALDWIN – Taylor Elementary School, kindergarten teacher, 31.5 years.
• LAURA BEARDEN – White Hall Junior High School (WHJH), English teacher, 39.
• CONNIE BELK – WHJH, business education teacher, 32.
• JUDY BIGGS – Taylor, third grade teacher, 36.
• DEBBIE BOAST – White Hall High School (WHH), family and consumer science teacher, 30.
• BETSY BURROW – W-HJH, English teacher, 36.
• MARYLYNN CASTEEL – Gandy Elementary School, fourth grade teacher, 31.
• GEORGE CONNELL – Taylor, principal, 40.
• DENNA CRAIG – WHH, Spanish teacher, 36.
• BILL DOBBINS – WHH, English teacher, 26.
• STEVE EDWARDS – WHH, physical education instructor and assistant football and basketball coach, 41.
• VICKIE FORREST – Gandy, kindergarten teacher, 31.
• NANCY GORE – Taylor, first grade teacher, 35.
• LINDA GRIGGS – WHH, English teacher, 38.
• JANE JUDKINS – Gandy, kindergarten teacher, 24.5
• KAREN LYNCH – Gandy, third grade teacher, 34.
• CAROL McGREW – W-HH, math teacher, 31.
• DAN MINCY – Hardin Elementary School, principal, 42.
• SHARON PRICE – WHH, physical science/chemistry teacher, 14.
• MARY RESTER – Moody Elementary School and Hardin, art teacher, 40.
• TRUMAN SELF – WHJH, choir director, 27.
• KATHARINE ANN SM-ITH – Gandy, kindergarten teacher, 29.
• ELAINE TOWNSDIN – Hardin, reading teacher, 29.
• CHARLES VEREEN – WHH, biology teacher, 38.
• ANDREA WENDAL – Hardin, fourth grade teacher, six.
    Granted conditional hiring by the board last week were:
• LANIE BLACKMAN – WHJH, business education teacher.
• TRACY GOODWIN – WHJH and WHH, assistant football and basketball coach.
• SUSIE JAMES – Hardin and Moody, art teacher.
• ROBIN ROARK – WHH, English teacher.
• SALLY WENDELL – Secondary English teacher.
    Tommy Pace resigned from his duties as an assistant football and basketball coach at WHJH.
