Incumbent White Hall School Board member Dean Dancer will face opposition in the Sept. 15 school election. Friday, July 17, was the filing deadline.
Dancer, an at-large director, is being challenged by William Tietz. Dancer is a barber/hair stylist. Tietz is facilities director of and a former principal in the Watson Chapel School District.
Connie Medsker of Redfield filed for the Zone 5 post vacated last week by Hardy Murdock Jr. Medsker is a pharmacist.
Murdock, who stepped down so that his daughter-in-law could be hired to a teaching position in the district, was to have served until 2011.
The board must name a replacement for Murdock to serve until the September election. Medsker could be appointed.
