A third University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men’s basketball player has entered the transfer portal.

Junior forward Ismael Plet announced his departure Wednesday on X, formerly Twitter.

“I want to thank Coach [Solomon Bozeman] for the relationship we have built over the past four years, as well as the rest of the UAPB coaching staff and the greater Pine Bluff community,” Plet’s post said in part.

Plet was the Southwestern Athletic Conference’s second-leading rebounder this season with 7.4 per game. He averaged 7.5 points per game, fifth-best on the team but the most among forwards.

His best performances with UAPB included his 18-point game against Ecclesia College and his three 15-point games this season against SWAC competition. He collected 14 rebounds twice, including once in SWAC play. He had five double-doubles this season.

The Amsterdam native transferred to UAPB in advance of the 2022-23 season. He had played two years at Oral Roberts University and was a freshman on the Golden Eagles’ 2021 Sweet 16 team, though he didn’t play in the NCAA tournament.

Plet’s reference to four years with Bozeman includes the coach’s time at Oral Roberts. Bozeman was an assistant at the university during Plet’s freshman season before the coach took over in Pine Bluff. After one year apart, Plet reunited with Bozeman when he transferred to UAPB.

Plet is the third Golden Lion to enter the transfer portal, joining all-SWAC second team guard Kylen Milton and guard Kuron Coleman.
