University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's basketball guard Zaay Green has been named an HBCU First Team All-American by BOXTOROW.

Green led the SWAC with 5.6 assists per game, and her 2.0 assist-to-turnover ratio was the league's best. She was the SWAC's second-leading scorer with 16.7 points per game.

She is the second UAPB basketball player to be named an HBCU All-American this season after men's guard Rashad Williams was named to the men's second team.

This recognition is the latest for Green this season after she was named first team all-SWAC and to the SWAC all-tournament team. She helped the Lady Lions finish with a winning overall record for the first time as a Division I program during a season which included a first-ever win against Arkansas and a fourth-place finish in the SWAC.

Green, who has one year of eligibility remaining, announced after UAPB's loss to Jackson State in the SWAC tournament she intends to return to UAPB next season.

Three other SWAC players join her on the first team, namely Miya Crump of Jackson State, Ahrianna Grizzle of Florida A&M, and Ryann Payne of Prairie View A&M. Two SWAC players, Ti'lan Boler of JSU and Amiah Simmons of Alabama A&M, were named to the second team.

JSU coach Tomekia Reed was named national coach of the year. Kierra Wheeler of Norfolk State was named national player of the year, and teammate Diamond Johnson was named impact player of the year.
