The Jefferson County Election Commission will hold a presentation titled, “A Primer on Elections” to interested community groups, according to a news release.

The presentation was designed as an outreach project to help voters understand what is involved in conducting elections, Chairman Mike Adam said in a news release.

The Power Point presentation takes approximately 30 minutes and explains: the roll of the secretary of state, state board of election commissioners, county clerks and county election commissions; Jefferson County elections, why you vote where you do; election polling site staffing; why there are primary elections; Voter identification law – why no voter can be disenfranchised; fail safe voting; safeguards against rigging elections; vote centers; and becoming a poll worker.
