Jefferson County District One Justice of the Peace Morris Caldwell has announced his intention to seek a fourth term on the Quorum Court in the March 1, 2018, Democratic Primary.
“As I seek re-election, my goals are to continue to provide sound, trustworthy and impartial services to the constituents of Jefferson County,” he said. “I will remain accessible to the citizens, accurately report the progress made within the Quorum Court, and continue to faithfully discharge the duties of this office the citizens have entrusted to me.”
In past years, Caldwell has served on the Education Committee, Solid Waste/Recycling Committee, Community Development Committee, and Judicial Committee on the county’s legislative body. He currently serves on the Solid Waste/Recycling Committee, Health & Welfare Committee, and the Judicial Committee. Justice Caldwell is also a member of the Democratic Central Committee and the Arkansas Association of Counties.
“I would like to thank the citizens of District One for giving me the opportunity to serve the community in the capacity of Justice of the Peace,” Caldwell said in a news release. “I will continue to put people, not politics first if given the opportunity to continue my service.”
Morris Caldwell is one of three children of the late Mr. Melvin Caldwell Sr. and Mrs. Mary “Lovejoy” Caldwell. He is married to Kanisher Caldwell together they have one daughter, Madison Nia-Nichole Caldwell.
