Carolyn E. Drake and Russell M. Parnell exchanged wedding vows at 7 p.m., Aug. 7, 2009, at Family Church. Bill Fitzhugh officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Douglas C. Drake of Lake Hughes, Calif., and Sherry J. Drake of Tacoma, Wash. She attended Wilson High School in Tacoma, Wash., and is currently attending Southeast Arkansas College. She is a teller at Pine Bluff National Bank.
The groom is a son of James Russell and Leann Hill Parnell, both of White Hall. His grandparents are Robert > and Mayme N. “Tess” Hill of Pine Bluff, and Betty Sue and the late James E. Parnell of White Hall.
He is a graduate of White Hall High School. He also graduated with high honors from the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (NJATC) where he received a journeyman wireman license. He is employed as an IBEW 295 journeyman electrician.
Nuptial music was by Matthew West and Highland Serenade’s Classic.
Reid Roberts, nephew of the groom was the ring bearer. The flower girl was Ember Sage Creighton, daughter of the bride. Shannon Parnell Roberts, sister of the groom, was the maid of honor. Kassie Atwood was the bride’s maid.
The best man was James Parnell, father of the groom, who also served as an usher and candlelighter. William “Bill” Hill, uncle of the groom was a groomsman. He also served and an usher and candlelighter.
The bride wore a Mori Lee duchess satin and organza gown. The bodice featured softly pleated satin, which draped onto the empire waistline, embroidery cascaded onto the full, A-line skirt with a sparkling design surrounding the skirt and chapel-length train. She carried a bouquet of orchids, calla lilies and white roses. Her jewelery consisted of fresh-water pearls, a gift from her father.
Becky Mincy, Rheanna Bowers, Melanie Daugherty, Julie Nicholson and Sandy Lapp were the servers. Kim Coker was the wedding coordinator. Tori Roberts, niece of the groom, kept the bride’s book.
A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the parents of the groom, was held Aug. 6.
Following a Western Caribbean cruise to Jamaica, Cayman Islands and Cozumel Mexico, on Western the couple now lives at their home in White Hall.
