A young girl leads her dog, or perhaps the dog is leading her, during Saturday morning’s one-mile doggie walk and 5K run/walk for humans here. The events were part of the month-long Founder’s Day celebration, which culminates Saturday with a downtown parade and assorted activities in city park. Everyone seemed to have a grand time at the run/walk and doggie venture, especially the appreciative canines. After a grinding stretch of 100-degree temperatures and sweltering humidity, the air was cooler and thinner, and a pleasant, steady breeze served as an additional enhancement. Thus, the dog days of summer gave way to a dog’s day of summer fun with their masters.
