When Dane Reed, owner of Dane’s Auto Sales, got a call from the City of Redfield looking for a van to purchase to use as the city’s animal control unit, he saw an opportunity to do something that he loves, something that his family loved, to give support.

According to Reed, he recently received the call from McFatridge who was in search to purchase a van for the animal control unit, a duty the city of Redfield recently assumed responsibility for. “After a couple of days I realized that I had the perfect fit and decided to donate the van to the city,” Reed said.
In May of this year, McFatridge formed a task force made up of local law enforcement to volunteer in Joplin Missouri after the horrifying tornado that devastated the city causing way over 100 deaths. Reed was one of the local officers that volunteered.

“It was during that time spent with the newly selected Chief of Redfield, Steve McFatridge that I recognized the love and passion that he had for his city,” Reed stated.
Reed comes from a family that has long supported the city.  According to Reed, his grandparents, the late John and Betty Gober were instrumental through financial support, in helping establish the library in Redfield. The Gober’s were lifelong residents of Redfield.
