Elton Jones, 85, of White Hall, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012.
He was born January 4, 1927 in Ogema, Arkansas to the late Doyle and Lorelure Cranford Jones. Mr. Jones was the owner and operator of Jones Feed and had worked for Kroger and Safeway for over 27 years. He attended schools in Sheridan and was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Elton was a member of the Cornerstone Apostolic Church where he was a Trustee, Board Member, former Sunday School Superintendent, Young Peoples Leader, and Sunday School Teacher. He was a former White Hall Alderman.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Onitia Rhoden and Faye Clark.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Muckleroy Jones, whom he married June 14, 1951; children, Debbie Jones Holder, Charlotte Jones Taylor, and David Jones; his dog, Chloe; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 16, at the Cornerstone Apostolic Church in White Hall with Pastor Zane Isaacson and Brother Howard Hudspeth officiating.
A visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Kevin Yeager, Shane Driskill, Adam Stuart, Lawrence Matthews, Matthew Corbitt, and Joe Jackson Jr.
